As a wedding officiant in northwest Montana I delight in sharing our natural beauty and wilderness with our visitors. At this wedding, I was even more excited, as my couple was bringing me somewhere new! Caleb and Silvana’s wedding was an unforgettable morning at the Big Arm unit of Flathead Lake State Park, surrounded by the beauty of nature and a calm sense of peace that settled over the landscape after a storm. With a small reception to follow at the local Nine Pipes Lodge, this day was filled with love, family, and heartfelt moments that captured the essence of a perfect outdoor Montana wedding.

How They Met and Their Journey Together

Caleb and Silvana, two adventurous souls from Canada, made their way to Big Arm for a special reason: Caleb had spent his childhood visiting this area, and the couple wanted to tie the knot where his family roots ran deep. The connection they felt to Montana's landscape and history made this the ideal location to start their next chapter together. Silvana, with her infectious smile and love for the outdoors, complemented Caleb’s easy-going nature, making their bond as strong as the mountains that surrounded them.

The Vibe: Calm After the Storm

The wedding day came after a night of stormy weather, which left downed trees and a feeling of freshness in the air. The day was bright, sunny, and filled with high energy from the couple and their guests. It was as if nature itself was celebrating alongside them, offering clear skies and a peaceful atmosphere. The storm cleared just in time, leaving behind a perfect backdrop for this unforgettable ceremony. The vibe was one of renewal and celebration—everything felt fresh, clean, and alive.

Their Personal Touch

Caleb and Silvana’s wedding reflected their deep care for nature and family. They chose to forgo some formalities to truly make the day their own. Caleb wore a vest instead of a suit coat and tie, staying true to his style and comfort. The couple's color palette was an elegant mix of blues, which not only made for stunning photos but also set a serene, calming tone for the day. All their guests wore shades of blue, making the entire ceremony look cohesive and breathtaking.

One of the unique challenges involved the vows. Silvana realized she would be without her glasses during the ceremony, so we worked together to print the vows in larger font—just one of the many personalized touches that made this wedding run smoothly.

Memorable Family Moments

Their adorable nephews, acting as ring bearers, were a highlight of the day. They couldn’t help but be distracted by the nearby lake, adding a sweet, lighthearted energy to the ceremony. Family was a central theme throughout the day, from the connections that brought them to Montana to the close-knit feeling of the event.

Special Touches From Bespoke Ceremonies Montana

As their officiant, I loved how open Caleb and Silvana were with their emotions. They confessed early on that they’d probably cry during the ceremony because even during their rehearsal at home, the tears flowed freely. To ease their worries, I let them know that I always keep tissues tucked away in my binder, ready for these touching moments. It’s these small, thoughtful details that help couples feel supported and present during their ceremony.

St. Ignatius Honeymoon Cottage

This connection was even more personal, as the couple ended up staying in my cousin’s Airbnb for their wedding suite and honeymoon. It was a beautiful reminder of how close-knit and meaningful these celebrations in Montana can be.

A Future of Adventure

After the wedding, Caleb and Silvana planned to visit the Gem Mountain Sapphire Min as part of their honeymoon—a perfect nod to their love for adventure and discovery. It’s these kinds of details that make every couple’s story unique and rich with meaning.

If you’re dreaming of an inclusive, deeply personalized wedding in the stunning landscapes of Montana, I would love to help you create a day as special and unforgettable as Caleb and Silvana’s. Whether you’re planning a micro-wedding or an elopement, let’s work together to bring your vision to life!

Audrey was the very best wedding officiant we could have asked for! She got right on board with us two crazy Canadians and our disorganized plans and helped us make heads and tails of the mess of wedding planning. I would absolutely recommend Audrey to anyone looking for an incredible, heartfelt and deeply touching ceremony, especially for micro-weddings and elopements! Her hands-on approach and true emotional investment into our special day truly made a world of difference. Thank you again Audrey, for helping make the happiest day of our lives happen :)
