All you need to know about the “Sign and Go!”- a quick and easy way to get married in Montana

Whether you call it a Brief Sidewalk Signing, a Drive-Thru-wedding, a Las Vegas style elopement, a “Sign and Go!”, a civil wedding or a courthouse wedding- the gist of it is the same. This is a no frills paper work exchange in which the marriage license is signed by a wedding officiant. It is a quick and easy way to get married in Montana!

Get Married In Montana

In Kalispell Montana, we are close to both the mountains of Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake, which is the largest natural freshwater lake in the western US (by surface area) outside of Alaska. If you are looking for a stunning backdrop for your elopement photos, northwest Montana has a delightful array of choices!  Once you get your marriage license signed at your Sidewalk Signing, you can travel to all the best spots for photos together, marking your special day.

Have your marriage license already and want it signed tomorrow?

We can do that!  As long as I’m available to meet you, I’m excited to help make your special day happen.

Does my Sidewalk Signing ceremony booking need to be last minute?

Not at all. Sidewalk Signings are often chosen by couples who have an auspicious time and/or date that they want to have as their anniversary.  It may be a good luck number such as 11:11 on 11/11 or a relationship anniversary they’ve already celebrated for years that they want to maintain with their wedding anniversary going forwards.

Some folks anchor their date a year in advance!

To secure a date for your BRIEF Sidewalk Signing you only need to pay the 50% retainer fee with the remaining balance due one month before the service date. If it’s sooner than that, you just pay in full.  The fee is $180.

What does the “Sign and Go!” Sidewalk Signing package include?

The BRIEF Sidewalk Signing service includes:

  • Guidance for marriage license procurement (read more about that here)

  • Convenience to the county courthouse for quick pick-up of your marriage license

  • Permitted access to a beautiful spot at a local state park for the signing (alternative porch site during coldest winter dates)

  • The actual Sidewalk Signing Ceremony which contains the legally mandatory: Declaration of Intent and the Pronouncement of Marriage.

  • Marriage license filing (I file for you unless you choose the expedited option of self-return)

$180

Bonus: Unlike a courthouse signing, you don’t need any witnesses!

How to know you should choose a ‘Sign and Go!”

The BRIEF sidewalk signing service is a great choice if you

  • are a couple that prefers privacy,

  • don’t have witnesses along,

  • have a long-time relationship that you want to be recognized legally without a big fuss,

  • you don’t relish being the center of attention.

What is not part of The “Sign and Go!” Sidewalk Signing?

The "Brief" Sidewalk Signing package is a

“Sign and Go!”  service

which involves only the couple,

at a predetermined local site

(close to the courthouse)

controlling for travel and preparation time.

Witnesses are not required but up to two are welcome to be present.

It doesn't include vows, ring exchange or readings.

There aren’t any unity rituals or religious messages.

It's not a traveling service.

It is a great option for you if you want me to do the official signing of your license!

Can we still have a wedding?

Yes! You can do whatever you want!

Even though you’re legally married once you say you want to be and your license is signed- the party part is up to you!

Most of my couples have a special meal at minimum.

Others plan an entire event with full ceremonies, flowers, chairs, songs, photos, dancing- the whole deal!  Just not the signing part- because that’s been completed.

(And no one needs to know- though it is public record…)

This was the easiest experience! Ms. Audrey made us feel like our simple sidewalk ceremony was very important and special! So glad we chose her. Thank you

Ready to sign up for the “Sign and Go!” BRIEF Sidewalk Signing?

This is such a fantastic option for couples that really want privacy, who want to anchor a certain anniversary date, who are planning a big bash later and want papers done now, or for folks who want photos of them hiking in fancy clothes in the mountains but don’t want to bother with a permit. You do not need additional witnesses but they are welcome. This is a Sign and Go! service. Buck tradition- Do it your way!

Do you need a little more than a signature?
